Retrofit on the Moor

In 2024 we transformed an old farm building into a low carbon cosy home with triple glazed windows and a heat pump. The building was originally constucted in 1970’s so we were able to install cavity wall insulation in combination with floor and loft insulation to make the home insulated and well sealed.

During the project we conducted air tightness testing, pressurising the home to ensure a good level of air tightness (<5ACH @50PA). As part of the home upgrade we also upgraded the layouts installing new lintels to make the ground floor open plan, a new kitchen as well as creating a new ensuite bathroom with porcelain wall and floor tiles.

We where able to retain existing features across the property such as the existing rangemaster oven which was carefully restored.
