The whole house upgrade of this 1980s property in Leeds was Wrapts first project. The project involved an thermal upgrade of the property as well as an upgrade of the internals. Wrapt oversaw the Home Energy Plan, Architectural Design and Construction,

Insulation

As part of the project Wrapt ensured that the whole buiding was insulated. This involved applying breathable Wood Fibre Insulation to all external walls. The roof was Insulated from above creating a warm roof at the same time as fitting a new fibreglass flat roof. The floor insulation was installed in combination with underfloor heating.

Ventilation & Heating

The existing house had no central heating and large unregulated vents around gas burners at the start of the project. These where removed and we installed DMEV (Decentralised Mechanical Extract Vents) in the kitchen and bathroom to ensure the building is continuously extracted of stale air. An Air Source Heat Pump was fitted to the back of the property which supplys heat to the underfloor heating maining a steady indoor temperature. The upstairs bedrooms which are used less frequently are heated using electric radiators that is more responsive and cost affective to install.
